Dave built his multimillion-dollar business from the ground up, with annual revenue at Marley Drug reaching $12 million. His groundbreaking drugstore in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, was recognized in 2017 by Greater Winston-Salem, Inc. as the Small Business of the Year. The winner of the Perseverance Award at the University of Buffalo, Dave embodies the adage that “one size doesn’t fit all.” His approach to business is simple: if you serve people, the business will follow, as evidenced by his astonishing and consistent business growth year after year. A winner of the Piedmont Business Ethics Award in 2013 and various other business awards, Dave has always been passionate about serving people in a unique way. In 2020, he founded the Marley Charitable Trust.

The Person
Dave was born in Philadelphia, raised in upstate New York, and now resides in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, while traveling the world. He earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University at Buffalo and his Doctor of Pharmacy degree from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Dave is a proud father of two boys and a loving husband to his wife, Elizabeth. He credits The Grateful Dead as major influences in his life and a driving force behind his success. The band came into his life at just the right time, giving him a sense of self and a place to belong—two things he had long yearned for. When Dave isn’t speaking or writing, you can find him playing ice hockey or fishing off the coast of North Carolina.
